About Chef Summer Key

Chef Summer is an American Culinary Federation award winning certified Chef. Starting her culinary journey attending Sinclair Community College where she majored in Culinary Arts and Hospitality management. She learned the fundamentals and the true art of cooking. With some great mentors at school (Chef Anthony Head) she blossomed into the accomplished Chef she is today. Going on several catering jobs for well-known Chefs in Dayton. While attending school she joined the Culinary competition team and won a bronze medal for the state of Ohio. Organizing and executing pop-up restaurants and fundraising campaigns to allow travel for competition’s and conferences. Later becoming captain of this winning team. Then on to assistant coaching and mentoring up in coming competitors after leaving school. Her hard work started gaining some recognition. Chef was recruited for a start up business named Fronana were she ran production for a frozen banana based product new to the market. Product developing, meeting stringent deadlines and overall management of shop and staff. When that project came to a close, she moved onto working at Rue Dumaine for James Beard award winning Chef Anne Kearney. This job was a career life changer. Learning so much from Anne for the years to follow and sharpening her skills. Chef Summer worked for Anne as long as possible in Dayton after Rue closed by doing private parties and events, then helped open the new restaurant in Tampa Florida. Traveling back and forth from Tampa to Dayton splitting time at work and home with family. That experience led to development of her catering/ private Chef business where she works tirelessly spoiling her fabulous clients. She is now building and growing a company of her own. Key Ingredient Catering is a labor of love. All her hard work and knowledge learned has paid off, now executing delicious food for the masses. Chef Summer Key continues to grow and shape her menus to suit her clients diet needs and food trends best. She will strive relentlessly to maintain her outstanding reputation by cultivating her passion and art.
